SPEAR LLC and Spear Training Group were formed out of a weakness in our state(s) training standards for security professionals. The term ‘Security Contractor’ can apply to event security at a stadium all the way to foreign diplomatic security. In the middle of that range are professionals in cash logistics, corporate security, critical infrastructure and estate/principle security. These officers often are required only to accomplish a state minimum and nothing more.

This is not enough training.

At Spear we prioritize these professionals. Using up to date, peer reviewed and vetted testing and data we create our curriculums. We do not chase novelty, we distribute effectiveness. Professionals from our courses come out much more confident and capable as private citizens and security professionals. We have worked with officers working daily to refill ATMs in troubled areas, professionals on cleared contracts and teachers at your child’s schools.

Hello there! As stated above, I created Spear out of disdain for the low standards expected for state licensing. I have since acquired an NRA Instructor/Range Safety Officer certifications as well as over 25 other certificates and certifications. These include: High Risk Explosive Sweeps, Protecting Critical Infrastructure Against Insider Threats, Threats to Nuclear Security, Active Attack Event Response Leadership and Legal Issues for Use of Force Instructors. These courses all have been acquired through reputable and accredited universities and agencies.

As important as the knowledge is, it doesn’t matter if it cannot be conveyed to an audience. Because communication is a massive failure point for nearly all relationships, I have focused heavily on effective communication skills, citing a library of over 60 books/studies that have helped developed this critical aspect.

All of this being said, none of this would be possible without the help of other amazing humans.
