Defensive Handgun I

Defensive Handgun I is a structured and specially designed course based on up to date teachings, law, case study, psychology and philosophy in the defense space. This course is specifically designed for Private Citizens and Security Professionals, though can be relevant for everyone else.

Things to know about this course:

  • A reservation is for a single slot on course day, if you plan to take this course with friends or family they will need to reserve their own slot.
  • There is a mild amount of physicality to this course, shooters must be able to lean, walk, side step and pick up at least 25lbs; accommodations can be made on a case by case basis.
  • Class structure will be limited to three (3) shooters on the line at a time though may incorporate up to six (6) shooters in total.
  • This class takes approximately 4 hours and is all on the range (no classroom).
  • This class covers grip, stance, sight alignment, defensive accuracy, defensive tempo, holsters, movement, close quarters techniques and mild
  • The class will start at exactly the stated start time, late attendees will be brought up to speed if they show up shortly after, though will be altogether rejected from the course if it is a hinderance to the rest of the students or staff. See refund policy below.

What to bring:

  • Your semi-auto pistol, a holster (no serpa or nylon/fabric), three (3) magazines minimum, three hundred and fifty (350) rounds of ammunition.
  • Close toed shoes, pants, shirt that is close collared as to avoid hot brass going into the shirt (no long v-neck, low cut or tank tops). Consider the weather conditions and dress appropriately.
  • Eye and ear protection.
  • Water and something to eat/snack on.
  • A clear and sober presence of mind.

Optional things to bring:

  • Plate carriers and body armor.
  • A battle belt or some other means of holding onto spare magazines.
  • An EMPTY rifle with sling. Note: This course does not cover rifle use or transitions, you may bring it as a prop, but you will not be using it or transitioning with it during the course.

Pricing and Reservation:

Upon completion:

  • Students will be awarded a signed and dated physical and digital certificate.
  • Students will be awarded a velcro patch.
